Coin-Op

I cabinati a gettone comparirono in America negli anni 70, ma solo dal ’78 in poi con Space Invaders ebbero la loro massima diffusione.

Il successo è andato crescendo fino alla fine degli anni 80, quando le console domestiche iniziarono ad avere una qualità grafica pari a quella dei Coin-Op (videogioco da sala giochi). E quindi gli appassionati persero l’interesse a frequentare le sale giochi, potendo divertirsi comodamente a casa e senza spendere soldi.

Oggi gli spazi che una volta occupavano questi cabinati sono purtroppo destinati alle videolottery (che nulla hanno a che vedere con i video giochi).
